GRE

The GRE General Test measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and analytical writing skills that have been acquired over a long period of time and that are not related to any specific field of study. The scores are valid for 5 years and the fee for the test is US$ 160 . GRE is conducted by Education Testing Service (ETS) online throughout the year; however, the students are expected to book the test slot well in advance either by phone or on-line.

Verbal Reasoning - 1 Argument task (1 topic is given)

The skills measured include the test taker's ability to

	analyze and evaluate written material and synthesize information obtained from it
	analyze relationships among component parts of sentences
	recognize relationships between words and concepts

Quantitative Reasoning - 30 Questions

The skills measured include the test taker's ability to

	understand basic concepts of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data analysis
	reason quantitatively
	solve problems in a quantitative setting

Analytical Writing - 1 issue Task (to be Chosen out of 2 topics)

The skills measured include the test taker's ability to

	articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively
	examine claims and accompanying evidence
	support ideas with relevant reasons and examples
	sustain a well-focused, coherent discussion
	control the elements of standard written English

Batches of GRE are conducted 6 days a week. Pyramid has a collection of excellent up-to-date courseware. GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test)

	The students who want to go to U.S. to pursue their management studies basically do GMAT.
	Course Duration: 8-12 weeks (Six Days a week) Monday to Saturday.
	GMAT is divided into three sections-
	Analytical Writing Analytical Writing Analytical Writing
	Course fees Rs.6500/-
	Its score is valid for 5 years.
	Eligibility : 12 + 4

Some univiersities may not require a GMAT score. Also some universities may not require GMAT score if a student has good GPA in Bachelors.
But do remember that for most of the student GRE/GMAT is a challenging exam and needs thorough practice.
